Butler Twp police investigate shooting



BUTLER TWP — Police believe a shooting at a home on Beech Road late Thursday night was an apparent suicide.
An autopsy is planned for a 44-year-old man who died shortly after township police got to the house about 11:40 p.m.
The man, who police did not identify, lives at the home. He was drinking with three friends when he apparently shot himself in the head with a .38-caliber revolver,
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators still are conducting interviews, and the shooting remains under investigation, township Police Chief John Hays said this morning.
