Student set to give plea in bomb case
PITTSBURGH — A Russian-born college student has been scheduled to plead guilty to charges that he built bombs without a license in his central Pennsylvania apartment.
Federal prosecutors in Johnstown last month filed the charge against Vladislav Miftakhov, 18, after months of negotiations with his public defender.
Miftakhov was a Penn State-Altoona student from California. He’s been jailed since police acted on a tip that he was growing marijuana in his off-campus apartment and also found bomb-making materials there Jan. 24.
