A Central Electric Cooperative crew strips the cable and fittings from a utility pole that was broken about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday when a suspected drunken driver hit it with a pickup truck on Route 138 in Clay Township. The truck, driven Todd D. Branch, 47, of Canyon, Texas, overturned over an embankment after hitting the pole just east of Route 8, state police said. Branch was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. The wreck closed the road for about three hours. West Sunbury volunteer firefighters assisted police.
