$2M Powerball ticket sold in Butler Twp

BUTLER TWP — Butler County may have a new millionaire.

One Powerball ticket worth $2 million drawn Saturday was sold at Sheetz, 356 New Castle Road, the Pennsylvania Lottery announced this morning.

The winning ticket correctly matched all five white balls drawn, 08-12-34-43-56, but not the red Powerball 09, and added Power Play, which boosted the prize to $2 million, less 25 percent federal withholding.

Without buying the $1 Power Play option, this winning ticket would have been worth $1 million.

The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

The prize must be claimed and the ticket validated before the winner can be identified. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

More than 26,200 other Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets won prizes of varying amounts in Saturday’s drawing.
