Antonio 'Tony' Andreassi

Antonio “Tony” Andreassi, 81, of Boyers passed away at 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Tony was born on Sept. 7, 1932, in Italy. He was the son of the late Bernardino and Enrichetta Andreassi.

He was a member of the St. Alphonsus Parish, having attended the Epiphany Roman Catholic Church in Boyers.

He retired from the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Boyer's Sportsmans. Tony enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.

Tony is survived by his wife, Gertrude “Gert” DeMatteis Andreassi, who he married on May 5, 1956; his two sons, Donald Andreassi and his wife, Laurie, of Seven Fields and Steven Andreassi and his wife, Brenda, of Butler; his two grandchildren, Derrick and Tia; and his brother, Joseph Andreassi of Michigan.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his sister.

Andreassi— The family and friends of Antonio “Tony” Andreassi, who passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Epiphany Roman Catholic Church with the Father James Bedillion of the St. Alphonsus Parish officiating.
