Both drivers die in head-on crash on Route 68

FORWARD TWP — State police are investigating a head-on crash late Wednesday night that killed two people in southern Butler County. The wreck happened on Route 68 near Buhl Road. Both drivers, whose names were not immediately released, died in the crash about 11:18 p.m., authorities said. The road was closed for more than six hours to allow for a police accident reconstruction investigation and for wreckers to haul away both vehicles. A Jeep and a Dodge Neon were involved. The Jeep came to rest atop a guard rail.
The road reopened just before 6 a.m.
