Shelbourne sold to Hermitage group

PENN TWP — Shelbourne Personal Care has a new owner.

The Nugent Group of Hermitage bought the facility at 296 Dinnerbell Road in May from the Hollinger Group of Mechanicsburg.

The sale was announced today.

Despite the sale, there are not expected to be any changes in staffing or services.

“Everything should stay status quo,” said Sarah Boland, spokeswoman for the Nugent Group, on today.

The facility has 60 beds, and Boland said it is at about 95 percent capacity. It has about 40 employees.

Boland said that the building will undergo some potentially major renovations soon. Currently, workers are doing some painting in the facility, she said.

The facility was founded in 1998 by David and Laurye Feller and four partners, all of whom are health care professionals, after searching for an assisted living facility for their mothers but not finding anything they liked.

The Nugent Group, which was founded 55 years ago, is a company that specializes in health care and education.

It owns five other health care facilities, mostly in Mercer County, as well as a nonprofit.
