Mary M. Bartuccio

Mary M. Bartuccio, 89, of Ford City passed away peacefully Tuesday at New Haven Court at Clearview, where she lived for the past nine years.

She was born on Sept. 24, 1924, in Etna, the daughter of John and Justine Bukavec Smolkovich.

Mary formerly worked at A&P in Etna and Kittanning.

She was a member of the Christ Prince of Peace Parish in Ford City and the St. Fidelis Parish in Meridian.

Mary volunteered at the St. Mary's Divine Redeemer School cafeteria, the Kittanning Health Center, Armstrong County Hospital, the Manor Township Lioness Club and the Ladies Auxillary of the Kit-Han-Ne Antique Car Club.

She enjoyed cooking and won many Leader Times Cook Off Awards. She also enjoyed waitressing at Fran and Joe's Tavern in NuMine, knitting and gardening. She was always proud of her flower beds.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Justine (William) Brown; her son, Carmen Bartuccio and Robin Roscher; her granddaughters, Maria (Jose) Cosme and Catherine E. Brown; her grandson, Liam Joseph Cosme; and her sister, Alice Smolkovich of Etna.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmen Bartuccio, on March 8, 1998, and her three sisters, Catherine Kurtiak, Mildred Smolkovich and Sister Mary Regina Smolkovich, OSsR.

Bartuccio — The family of Mary M. Bartuccio, who passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Mantini Funeral Home, 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City.A prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Christ Prince of Peace Parish, 718 4th Ave., Ford City, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. with the Father Bryan Summers officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
