Driver hurt this morning in Center Twp accident

CENTER TWP — A car driven by a Renfrew woman this morning struck a rock and a wooden beam before rolling over into the lawn of the Community Alliance Church on Mercer Road.

Butler state police report the blue Kia Rio driven by Brittney Goepfert, 22, was coming from North Duffy Road when it did not make a turn, driving straight ahead instead.

The accident was reported in a 911 call at 5:53 a.m.

Members of the Unionville Volunteer Fire Company had to extricate Goepfert from the car, which landed on its driver’s side near the wall of the church.

“We cut the windshield and the roof,” said Unionville Fire Chief Greg Brewster.

Goepfert was taken by Butler Ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment. Her condition was unavailable.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
