Motorcyclist injured in crash in Cranberry

CRANBERRY TWP — A motorcycle rear-ended a minivan this afternoon near the intersection of Rochester and Powell roads, sending the bike driver through the back window of the van.

Township police and paramedics responded to the accident before 1 p.m. Thursday. Both the bike and the van were stopped on Powell Road in a lane in which vehicles could either travel straight or make a turn on to Rochester Road.

The driver of the sports bike was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, according to Cranberry Sgt. Chuck Mascellino.

The driver of the minivan remained on the scene after the accident and was visibly upset as police reconstructed the accident.

Police couldn’t give any further information regarding the driver’s condition or the names of those involved.
