Entrapment possible as 3 Pittsburgh homes burn



PITTSBURGH — Emergency crews this morning were trying to determine whether anyone was trapped inside three homes that caught fire in Pittsburgh’s Fineview neighborhood.
The fire was reported about 6:30 a.m. and appeared to spread from one home to two others on either side of that residence.
Crews say there were reports that at least one person was trapped in one of the homes, but public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler and Fire Chief Darryl Jones were not able to immediately confirm that.
It wasn’t immediately clear how the fire began.
Fineview is in the northern part of the city, across the Allegheny River from downtown and near the North Side.
The fires appeared to be largely under control by 8 a.m.
