The Eagle’s front page Wednesday contained some exciting news. Glade Run lake gets $2 million in state funds. I am not a resident of Middlesex Township nor do I live near the lake, but I am a proud resident of Butler County and I salute those people who helped to obtain this money. Through the efforts of Siggy Pehel and his volunteers, the Glade Run Lake Conservancy enlisted the support of many people including state legislators.

But where was Daryl Metcalfe, state representative whose 12th District includes Glade Run?

Through many months of meetings under Pehel’s leadership many people stepped forward to support this program. There was a tremendous response, with the exception of Rep. Metcalf. Where was he during these meetings?

State Sens. Vulakovich R-40th, White R-41st, and Hutchinson, R-21st attended and urged Gov. Corbett to support this funding. No Metcalfe.

Maybe it is time people in the 12th Legislative District look at the lack of leadership they are receiving from Metcalfe and look in a different direction.
