SOUTH BEND TWP, Armstrong County — A head-on crash on Route 156 has killed five people.

Brandon Sulava, 19, of Apollo was killed along with his passengers Brandon Sauers, 15, of Apollo, and Brieyonah Painter, 18, of Kittanning.

Sulava’s Ford Mustang crossed the center line shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and hit a Chevrolet Lumina driven by Crystal Kay Kelley, 41, of Avonmore, who was also killed.

Three passengers in her car were flown to a Pittsburgh hospital in critical condition. One of those passengers, Kent Smith, 34, of Elderton, died at 11:10 p.m. Thursday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
