2 women honored as employees of year

FRANKLIN TWP — The Butler County Chamber of Commerce today recognized two women who have contributed to the care of thousands of residents during their careers.

The 10th Employee of the Year Award, sponsored by Butler Health System, was presented at the chamber’s 20th annual Employee Appreciation Luncheon at The Atrium.

The previous 11 award recipients selected Brenda Campbell, personal care director of the Chicora Medical Center, and Donna Haid, clinical informatics manager for Butler Health System.

The women were nominated by co-workers.

Campbell coordinates resident care and supervises all staff in the personal care program at the Chicora Medical Center.

She has been with Quality Life Services, the Butler-based family owned company that owns and operates center, for more than 14 years.

“Brenda’s commitment, work ethic and love that she has for her residents and employees is evident to anyone who works with her for even a day,” according to her nomination form.

She also has overcome personal adversity, showing her dedication by returning to work only three weeks after having surgery for a malignant brain tumor in spring 2012.

Campbell lives in Rimersburg.

Haid, who has worked for Butler Memorial Hospital for 16 years, developed the hospital’s group of employees who handle electronic medical records.

The team builds and revises the electronic documentation of patient care. Most recently, the group prepared the hospital to meet the federal government’s electronic documentation requirements.

She lives in Donegal Township.
