Tuesday — Police reached out to the public for information into the whereabouts of a suspected shoplifter, who also is wanted on a warrant out of Allegheny County.The suspect, Scott A. Locke, 43, of Butler, allegedly tried to steal $339 worth of merchandise from the Walmart at Butler Commons on April 9. But when store security stepped in to stop him, Locke took off running into the parking lot. A $42 bottle of Versace cologne he attempted to take was broken in the getaway.Locke's alleged getaway driver, Joyce M. Anderson, 41, of Butler, was waiting for him. The couple drove away with Anderson's child in the back seat, according to court documents.Locke is charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property. Anderson, who was barred from the store after her own shoplifting arrest there last year, is charged with trespass, a police report said.The warrant for Locke in Allegheny County was issued March 31 after he failed to appear at a court hearing in connection with a traffic stop in Hampton on May 22. He is awaiting trial in that case on misdemeanor and traffic charges including possession of drug paraphernalia, loitering and prowling at night, and driving with a suspended license-DUI related.Anyone with information about Locke's whereabouts is to call 724-284-8100.

3:15 p.m. Monday — An unknown burglar made off with an Xbox 360 video game system after breaking into an apartment in the 200 block of South Broad Street.Police said the apartment sustained unspecified damage in the burglary. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.

11:40 p.m. Monday — Six tractor-trailer brake drums were stolen from a scrap pile at the Dinnerbell Garage on Dinnerbell Road in Penn Township. Police have no suspects.10:54 p.m. Monday — Nicole E. Stewart, 29, of Boyers was hurt when she swerved to miss a deer on Branchton Road in Cherry Township and hit a tree. Stewart, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.

4:52 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Janice H. Belgredan, 57, of Slippery Rock was rear-ended by a sport utility vehicle on Route 19 at Falls Road in Springfield Township. Belgredan was stopped to make a left turn when she was hit.Police cited the other driver, Richard A. Arthur, 20, of Greenville, for careless driving. No injuries were reported, according to police, but Belgredan was taken to Grove City Medical Center for precautionary reasons. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.April 4 — Police charged Gavin A. McGaffic, 30, of Harrisville with drunken driving stemming from a March 15 crash with a school bus on Interstate 79 in Findley Township.McGaffic lost control of his car when he tried to illegally pass another vehicle. The car spun into the driver's side of the bus, which slid into the median. Two boys, ages 15 and 16, both from suburban Buffalo, suffered minor injuries.In addition to driving under the influence, police cited McGaffic for improperly passing another vehicle, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and reckless driving.April 2 — Francis R. Thompson, 39, of Slippery Rock was arrested on charges he stole $3,054 from his former employer, Richardson Tree Service in Stoneboro. The theft happened between April 1, 2012, and Jan. 27.Thompson is accused of using a company credit card to buy vehicle parts that he later returned for a refund, which he pocketed.Additionally, he allegedly used a company credit card to buy gas for his personal vehicles and took gas from company stock tanks for his personal use.Thompson was arraigned on a felony count of theft by unlawful taking and two misdemeanor counts of theft by deception. He is free on $25,000 unsecured bail.

Tuesday — Police arrested a 61-year-old man on charges he raped a 14-year-old girl at his home last year in the 4000 block of Ellwood Road in Wayne Township.Steven Louis Haynes, who is being held in the Lawrence County Jail on $100,000 bail, is charged with rape, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and sexual assault, all felonies. Additionally, he is charged with indecent assault, a misdemeanor.The defendant is accused of having non-consensual sexual intercourse with the girl between Feb. 15 and March 30, 2013.11:20 a.m. April 7 — Four people were hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.The crash happened when a sport utility vehicle driven by Robert D. Dimase, 74, of New Castle crossed into the opposing lane while rounding a bend on Princeton Station Road and collided with a pickup truck.Dimase was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio with moderate injuries. Dimase's passenger, Chad E. Kelley, 36, of Strongsville, Ohio, suffered minor injuries. Both men were wearing seat belts.The other driver, Jacob F. Breitenstein, 19, and his passenger, Harley J. Petersson, 20, both of New Castle, suffered minor injuries. Neither man was wearing a seat belt.Police cited Dimase for driving on the wrong side of the road.
