Praises for Trant

Regarding John Trant leaving his post with Cranberry Township, I wonder how many residents know who Trant is or what he has done as chief strategic planner over 14 years with the township.

Unless you have actually been to a meeting of the Cranberry Township supervisors or planning commission, you have no idea how important he has been. When hot topics like the future vision of Freedom Road were at their pitch, Trant was always the middle man between the township, the supervisors and the citizens of Cranberry.

With Trant’s skills, as Manager Jerry Andree pointed out, it’s not surprisinig he’s been lured away by a private sector position.

What struck me most about John Trant was his patience and his ability to deal with the harshest of situations that sometimes came with the clashes between the township’s government and its citizens. We were lucky to have him during a difficult period in our county’s history, and we will be the beneficiaries of his hard work for years to come.

How about naming a small street after him? Better yet, how about renaming Freedom Road after him?
