Shelley Palmer

Shelley A. Palmer Jr., 82, of New Galilee passed away unexpectedly Monday in the Ellwood City Hospital emergency room.

He was born in Fombell on July 12, 1931, to the late Shelley A. Palmer Sr., and Ruth Tucker Palmer.

He was a dairy farmer all his life and a member of the Beaver County Tractor Club.

He married his wife of 64 years, Darlene McKinney Palmer, on Feb. 8, 1950.

He is survived by his wife, and two daughters, Shelley (Rev. Daniel) Hockenberry of New Castle and Kathleen “Kitty” (Tim) Hockenberry of Hermitage. He also is survived by three sisters, Louise White and Juanita (Rich) Eppinger, all of Zelienople, and Judy Barnhart of Harmony; seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Lee Palmer, on Oct. 22, 2010. He also was preceded by three brothers and four sisters, Thomas Palmer, John “Jack” Palmer, James Palmer, Marie Glover, Virginia Beight, Lois Hart, and infant Madeline Palmer.

Palmer Jr., who passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, will welcome friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Reformed Church, 320 E.
