It was my pleasure to attend Knoch High School’s production of “Once Upon a Mattress.”

It was hard to believe this was only a high school musical. The costumes and backdrops looked professionally done. The cast performed flawlessly and exceptionally.

They brought the lightheartedness of the show to the forefront. It was obvious everyone as enjoying his or her role, be it as a member of the orchestra, chorus, dance troupe, actors or stage crew.

The directors are to be commended for their long hours of work in producing such a fine show. How they ever managed with such a large number of students is remarkable.

It was refreshing to see the students from grades 9 through 12 working cooperatively. I am sure they formed memories and bonds that will last a lifetime.

I am especially proud of all my former second-graders. It was exciting to see so many involved in this great production.
