EVANS CITY — Anyone who parks on the designated emergency snow routes in the borough must move their cars Sunday night.

Police Chief Joe McCombs announced Friday that the borough’s snow event ordinance will be observed from 10 p.m. on Sunday to at 6 a.m. Monday in anticipation of Snowstorm Titan, which may cause 6 inches or more of snow to collect.

McCombs said no vehicles are permitted to park along the streets on the snow route, and police can issue citations or tow vehicles that are not moved.

Those who normally park along the snow route can temporarily use EDCO Park, church parking lots, or the upper lot at the Evan City Elementary/Middle School during those hours.

“We intend to fully enforce this because of the (predicted) severity of the storm,” McCombs said.

He said cars parked elsewhere temporarily should be moved as soon as possible after 6 a.m. Monday.

McCombs said if cars are not moved from the snow route, public works employees are unable to maintain two cleared lanes and traffic is reduced to one lane.

The borough’s Swiftreach system, which notifies residents and business owners by text or e-mail of an important occurrence, will be used Sunday afternoon for the snow storm
