Woman to run for state 12th District seat

CRANBERRY TWP — Lisa Zucco has announced her candidacy for state representative in the 12th District.

She is the first announced Democratic candidate for that position.

Zucco will focus her efforts on restoring funding to schools, fixing roads and bridges, and returning integrity to state government.

“The Harrisburg politicians have lost touch with common citizens. They believe that their personal political agenda is more important than our needs. We need to elect citizens, not politicians.”

Zucco earned a B.A. from Saint Vincent College. She is a technical writer for Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP, a Baltimore-based architectural and engineering firm with an office in Seven Fields that focuses on transportation engineering.

“As a professional in the transportation engineering field, I know how badly our roads and bridges have been neglected. It is our duty to maintain our infrastructure.

“But Harrisburg politicians put their own need to be re-elected ahead of public safety. That’s unacceptable.”

Zucco and her family, husband John Stefanowicz, daughter Bella, 10, and son Milo, 6, have lived in the 12th District for 15 years.
