BUTLER TWP — The Butler School Board Administrative Search Committee will begin sorting through superintendent, assistant superintendent and business manager applications this week with the hopes of hiring a superintendent next month.

Superintendent Mike Strutt said that the district received five applications for superintendent, 13 applications for assistant superintendent, and 5 applications for business manager.

Strutt declined to give further details, citing confidentiality of the candidates.

The application deadline for all three positions was Friday.

The board search committee will begin going through the superintendent applications this week, with the intent of starting interviews next week.

Strutt, along with Carolyn Cornish, assistant superintendent, and Cathy Rodgers, business manager, will retire on June 30.

The board wants to hire a superintendent first, and then have that person involved in the hiring of the assistant superintendent and the business manager,
