New Jersey company wants to buy Sunnyview

Butler County will begin negotiating with a New Jersey company that is interested in buying the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The county commissioners this morning voted 2 to 1 to authorize Commissioner Bill McCarrier, board chairman, to represent the county in negotiations with Investment 360.
Commissioner Dale Pinkerton sided with McCarrier in the vote. Commissioner Jim Eckstein dissented, saying solicitor Mike English would be a more appropriate choice.
The company, which owns health care facilities in New York, is one of eight firms seeking to buy Sunnyview.
Today’s vote does not prevent the county from selling Sunnyview to another company if negotiations don’t go well.
The county won’t disclose what any of the sales offers are, including the one by Investment 360, and the names of the other seven companies.
