Michael Spolyar and Maureen Piper

An Oct. 4 wedding is being planned by Maureen Grace Joan Piper and Michael William Spolyar, both of Boston.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Susan Piper and Hal Kersteen of Gibsonia. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Patricia and William Spolyar of Slingerlands, N.Y.

The future bride is a 2003 graduate of Knoch High School. She attended West Penn School of Nursing, Clarion University and Waynesburg University and graduated in 2009.

She is a cardiac surgical intensive care nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Her fiance graduated in 1996 from Messalonskee High School. He graduated from Bentley University in 2000.

He is employed in the medical device division of General Electric in Boston.
