The Butler Health System finances are healthy.
The health system’s total revenue for fiscal year 2013 was $253.1 million with $248.8 million in expenses, leaving $4.3 million in excess revenue.
“We’re slowly improving. So, yes, we are doing well,” said Anne Krebs, chief financial officer, in an interview.
Finances were discussed at the annual public meeting of the system’s board of trustees Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
The system used that excess revenue, which was up from $3.5 million in 2012, to expand it services and to look for areas to expand, such as oncology.
“We just put that right back in the system,” Krebs said.
