Things I detest:

• A political party complaining about the Affordable Care Act offering health coverage to the uninsured while politicians of that very same party sit secure with free insurance.

• The stock market sinking the moment Congress shuts down and surging when we deploy our troops.

• The defense industry giving $27 million a year to political campaigns.

• No caps on campaign contributions.

• A cap on income taxed for Social Security purposes.

• Politicians lying and slandering rival candidates.

• Government theft and fraud.

• Congressmen posturing for party power, shutting down our government and embarrassing us worldwide.

• Empty promises from those intent on winning elections.

• Too few people participating in elections or in writing letters to the editor.
