3 top Butler school officials to resign

BUTLER TWP — Three of the four top administrators of the Butler School District will resign at the end this school year.

Superintendent Mike Strutt, Assistant Superintendent Carolyn Cornish and business manager Cathy Rodgers all will retire in June 2014.

Rodgers, who usually does roll call for each vote, was tearful Monday night as she called for each school board member to approve the resignation list that included the three administrators.

Board President Don Pringle said, “It’s going to stink to not have you here.”

These officials have worked in the district for many years. Strutt worked in the district for 25 years, Cornish for 15, and Rodgers for 10 years.

Each of them worked in public schools between 35 and 40 years.
