Butler County's great daily newspaper

Sentence was too light

Regarding “Man gets probation for corruption of minors,” page 1, Nov. 6.

I could hardly believe that Alexis McKinney’s life is worth only one year probation, $500 fine and 150 hours of community service. Is that what a child is worth these days?

Her family and friends face a lifetime of sorrow.

Maybe Sean Snyder (who pleaded guilty to providing alcohol to 15-year-old Alexis and her 17-year-old boyfriend the night she died in a vehicle accident) can perform his community service picking weeds off Alexis’ grave and working in the morgue. Let him see all the people who die from drunk drivers and people who buy alcohol for minors.

This is justice? Who did he know that gave him back his freedom?

As for the rest of us, we have our memories of Alexis, but would rather still be making memories with her.
