It is my understanding one or more of Butler County’s department budgets (solicitor, controller and human resources) are charged in part to Sunnyview, somewhere in the neighborhood of $230,000. If that is true, then will these departments be cut back after the sale to reflect the cost savings? If not, then there is no savings there.

Sunnyview was recently upgraded and I have read that millions of dollars was spent on renovations. Construction of the new proposed VA facility was supposed to cost about $60 million. Is our county home really worth only $13.2 million?

Once the sale is made, it’s too late and we may lose an irreplaceable asset. I think a decision of this magnitude deserves to be fully discussed and ideas heard before a final decision is made.
