I understand the financial benefits of changing the name of Pullman Park.

As a former employee of Pullman-Standard, I was saddened to see that Butler is about to lose another reminder of Pullman.

I would hope the Stadium Authority Board and the Redevelopment Authority would consider including some form of visible recognition for the thousands of men and women who worked at Pullman. They made the Butler Plant the largest freight car builder in the world.

These employees produced 50 cars a day, year after year.

Perhaps this could be discussed and resolved before the Pullman Park signs are removed.
