Brother's final honor

I recently attended a funeral service for my brother, Mike, who was given final honors by the local military honor guard. He was also a proud member of the honor guard.

The service was the most humble and dedicated I have ever seen, even having served in World War II and more than 20 years in the United States Air Force and on numerous occasions having observed similar events.

The Embroski family and, indeed, this community and city owe all honor guard members a sincere debt of gratitude for their sacrifice and dedication to ensure that all veterans are given the final military burial honors.

If you have the occasion to visit one of the American Legion posts or the Veterans of Foreign Wars, where many of the members usually socialize, shake their hands and buy them a drink and thank them for their outstanding service to our military veterans.
