Jackson Twp garage damaged by fire
JACKSON TWP — A garage caught on fire Monday night at a home directly across from the Seneca Valley High School.
The Harmony Volunteer Fire Company responded about 7 p.m. to the home of Harold Moyer on Seneca School Road.
Harmony Fire Chief Neal Nanna said the fire was accidentally started in the roughly 20 by 40-foot garage, but he would not elaborate.
Nanna said there was about $40,000 in damages to the structure and an additional $40,000 to the contents of the garage, which included a Chevrolet El Camino and several tools.
The fire did not spread to Moyer’s home, which is about 60 feet away from the garage.
Nearly 50 firefighters from Evans City, Cranberry Township, Zelienople, and Franklin Township, Beaver County assisted.
Nanna said it took about two hours to extinguish the fire.
All units left the scene shortly after 10 p.m.
