Body of missing Franklin Twp man found

MUDDY CREEK TWP — Authorities believe they have found the body of a missing Franklin Township man.

The remains were found Sunday afternoon in a Jeep in a wooded area off Kelly Road. Mickey Scheller, 21, disappeared Aug. 7 while supposedly head to work.

Butler County Coroner William Young said the body was found in a Jeep and had a pin in the leg, just as Scheller had in his.

Young said there is no indication the death was a homicide.

“There didn’t appear to be foul play,” he said.

Young is awaiting results of an autopsy. He said the results of the toxicology reports won’t be ready for two to three weeks.

Young said a couple dirt bike riders found the Jeep nearly a mile into the woods.

After Scheller vanished, search efforts included a helicopter crew and a dive team. His family posted flyers and contacted traditional and social media outlets.
