Gremlin boys soccer wins 10th league title

Spencer Myers and Tyler Pollock both scored two goals as the Karns City boys soccer team captured its 10th straight league title with a 4-1 victory Saturday at Redbank Valley.

The game began Wednesday, but was suspended due to lightning.

Conrad Snyder and Noah Pollock both contributed an assist for the Gremlins (10-2), who host Kittanning today.

FootballSummit Academy outscored visiting Valley 20-0 in the second half, lifting the Knights to a crucial 26-6 Allegheny Conference win over the Vikings.J’Ron Hill-Phillips ran for an 11-yard touchdown in the first half before connecting with Lemuel McFadden on a 20-yard scoring strike that put the Knights (4-3, 4-2) up 12-6 in the fourth quarter.Larry Richardson followed with a 4-yard touchdown run and Elijah Hardy sealed the win with a 47-yard interception return for another score.Summit Academy, which is chasing the first WPIAL playoff berth in program history, travels to conference leader Shady Side Academy Friday night.
