I was disappointed that the Butler Fall Festival had to be canceled because of the rain. It got me to thinking: perhaps the cancellation was not due solely to an unfortunate weather event.

Could it be the festival’s demise was the Lord’s way of punishing the people of Butler County for routinely electing politicians (Metcalfe, Ellis and Kelly) who do ungodly things — denying food to needy children, hurting working people by constantly undermining unions, denying women health care, and working to deny the vote to minorities and poor folks?
