Defund ObamaCare

The point of no return is fast approaching: Implementation of the Affordable Care Act begins Oct. 1. It is imperative to take action to stop this job-killing overreach of Government.

ObamaCare is anything but affordable. If it were so great, then unions, big business and Congress would not be begging for exemptions.

Even the IRS employees who will be charged with enforcing this debacle are whining to be exempted from it.

What about the rest of us?

This country cannot afford another ill-conceived entitlement program. The healthcare system needs some tweaking, but by and large our healthcare system is the best on the planet. The last thing Americans need is the government or the director of Health and Human Services telling us what procedures we can and cannot receive.

What most fail to understand about universal health care is that it is not about health care; it is about control or every aspect of our lives. Just the fact that the IRS (which is currently under scrutiny for unethical practices) will be enforcing ObamaCare should send a chill up your spine.

The people that this albatross was supposed to be helping the most are the very ones who are being hurt the most.

Employers are already reducing the 40-hour work week to 29.5 hours for many employees to get out from under the employer mandate to provide healthcare to full-time employees. As a result, families now having to find two part-time jobs still end up without employer provided healthcare.

In addition, young people who do not feel the need for insurance will be forced to purchase it or pay a fine. Most will take the fine until 2016, when it becomes too high. Young people are needed to purchase the insurance to pay for the older people who will be using it.

The (un)Affordable Care Act is a more than 2,000-page piece of legislation that was not read in its entirety by anyone who signed it. As Nancy Pelosi famously said, “We have to pass it to find out what’s in it.” Enough said.

I urge you to contact everyone you know to go to Freedomworks and sign the petition to defund ObamaCare.
