Rockets roll past Owls, Chucks edge Falcons

BRADFORD — Jake Whitmer tossed two touchdown passes and ran for another score in leading Slippery Rock to a 62-12 high school football victory over Bradford Friday night.

The Rockets (4-0, 2-0) had a 42-0 lead over Bradford (1-3, 0-3) by halftime.

Whitmer's touchdown passes were 22 yards to Brady Kadlubek and 55 yards to Chris Reeseman. He scored on a 12-yard run.

Ryan Bosch returned a fumble 25 yards for a score and Ryan Lauster brought a punt back 60 yards for a touchdown.

Whitmer had 177 combined yards passing and rushing.

FOXBURG — The winless Falcons gave Punxsutawney a scare as Mike Suto scored two touchdowns, one on a 23-yard run, the other on a 43-yard pass from Evan Redding.Redding threw for 136 yards and rushed for 97. Suto ran for 84 yards and had four receptions for 76 more.Dallas Wingard scored on a 5-yard run and Damian Wolfe booted a 23-yard field goal for A-C Valley (0-4).

GROVE CITY — Matt Voytik threw for 171 yards and three touchdowns and Davon Tindall scored three TDs for the Hornets (3-1, 2-1).Voytik rushed for 122 yards as the Eagles (3-1, 2-1) suffered their first loss at home since 2009. They had won 19 straight home games and 30 of their last 32.Foster Reznor rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown for Grove City, which was limited to 104 yards of offense.

KITTANNING — Summit Academy (1-3, 1-2) was held to 165 yards of offense and the only Knights' touchdown was scored on a 40-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Nate Cofer.Braydon Toy threw for 210 yards for Kittanning.
