Butler police are investigating a suspected home invasion early Tuesday morning during which two men reportedly held two women at gunpoint.
No one was hurt in the altercation at a house in the 100 block of College Street.
Police were called to the home about 1:15 a.m. The caller claimed two women were being held at gunpoint, according to a police report,
The women told responding officers that they were held for about 20 minutes, until the intruders fled. They were unharmed, police said.
The women, who police did not identify, recounted that the two men forced their way into the house and demanded to know the whereabouts of two other men, who “were named by the (suspects).”
The report did not say if the women knew the burglars or if police have any suspects.
Police Capt. David Dalcamo was unavailable for comment this morning.
Butler Township police and state police assisted city officers following the call.
