Laryssa Hess and Paul Thompson

A Dec. 21 wedding is being planned by Laryssa Hess of Cleveland and Paul Thompson of Durham, N.C.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mark and Hyldee Hess of Oberlin, Ohio. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are William and Mary Thompson of Boyers.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Lutheran High School in West Rocky River, Ohio, and a 2012 graduate of Case Western University.

She is a nurse in the surgical intensive care unit at University Hospital’s Case Medical Center.

Her fiance graduated in 2008 from Moniteau High School and in 2012 from Case Western University.

He is in the M.D./Ph.D. program at Duke University.
