SHARPSBURG — Steve Mowry, 20, and Gunner Gagen, 16, of Butler won championship belts at the Pittsburgh Pride Amateur Boxing Show Saturday at the Linden Gymnasium in Sharpsburg.Mowry defeated Mike Bobosky of New Castle in a heavyweight bout. The fight was stopped in the second round as Bobosky's nose was bleeding and he had spit out his mouth piece three times.Gagen earned a unanimous decision at 130 pounds over Nate Sands of the 3rd Avenue Gym.Mowry and Gagen train at the Positive Mental Attitude Center in Butler.

SHREVEPORT, La. — Center Township resident Dave Shively wound up 33rd at the recent Forrest Wood Cup, the world championship of bass fishing.Shively, who fished with two different pros, was 12th after the first day of competition on the Red River. His Day Two partner was the famed Jimmie Houston, a 50-year bass angler.There were 46 pro anglers and 46 co-anglers in the event.
