Hoover, Grubbs

Matthew and Amanda Grubbs

Amanda Hoover of Jefferson Hills, Pa., and Matthew Grubbs of Saxonburg were united in marriage June 8 at Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church in Pleasant Hills, Pa. The Rev. Carolyn Cranston officiated. A reception followed at the Willow Room in Belle Vernon.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Vicki Herbert of Jefferson Hills and Dr. Walter Hoover of Freedom. Parents of the bridegroom are Dan and Pauline Grubbs of Saxonburg.

The honor attendant was ChrisAnn Stroup of Pleasant Hills. Bridesmaids included Tricia Chicka of Pittsburgh, Helen Darsie of Pasadena, Calif., and Becky Mertz of Prospect.

The flower girls were Ellie and Amelia Mertz of Prospect.

Performing the duties of best man was P.J. Pfeuffer of Pittsburgh. Ushers included James Costello of Saxonburg, Tony Guerra of Gibsonia, Sam Monte of East Liverpool, Ohio, and Chris Mertz of Prospect.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and a 2010 graduate of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

She is employed by Macy’s in South Hills Village.

The bridegroom graduated from Knoch High School in 2005 and from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 2013.

He is employed by the Korean United Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh.

Following a honeymoon Caribbean cruise, the couple is making their home in Jefferson Hills.
