A Free Family Summer Concert Series, hosted by the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department, takes place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Aug. 13 at the Carousel Shelter at Alameda Park. Call 724-284-5383. Playing Tuesday will be Eugene and the Nightcrawlers blues band.

The Butler County Symphony Orchestra's Concerts to Munch By show from noon to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the New Castle Street Plaza will be Tom Panei and Washboard Tony. In the event of rain, the lunchtime concerts will be held at the symphony office, 259 S. Main St. Admission is free. Call 724-283-1402.

Musicians' Concert Band will perform “Swing N Sway,” at 7:30 p.m. today at Butler Intermediate High School. Admission is $5. Visit www.musiciansconcertband.com.

Thursdays in the Park Concert Series shows in the Rotary Amphitheater at Community Park in Cranberry Township are free, as is parking, and will feature The Holidays with oldies and more at 7 p.m. July 18. Take a blanket or lawn chair for seating. Call 724-776-4806.

Eugene & the Night Crawlers will perform at 7:30 p.m. today at The Harmony Inn as part of the free summer evening concerts organized by the historic borough's Parks Board. Concertgoers should take their own chairs.

Rockin' the Rose Concert Series at Chicora Medical Center will feature the band Highway 4 with its rock and alternative rock at 7 p.m. July 25 on the campus of the medical center at 160 Medical Center Drive. Those attending are to take chairs and blankets for first-come, first-choice lawn seating around the outdoor stage. Refreshments will be available. Watermelon Wednesdays are scheduled to have free music and watermelon at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays through July 31 in Slippery Rock Park. Call 724-794-8180.

Hartwood Acres Amphitheater in Allison Park, Allegheny County, will be the site of a performance of Celtic folk rock by the group Great Big Sea at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. Call 412-767-9200.Trombone Sunday will be held July 28 at Memorial Park Church, 8800 Peebles Road, Allison Park. The Pittsburgh Trombone Project with Kevin McManus, Peter Howell, Bob Matchett and Chris Carson will lead the group. Area trombonists are invited to participate. The repertoire ranges from great classics to hymns, to accompanying the choir and playing together with the organ. Rehearsal will be July 18 at the church, and the performance is July 28.
