In 1980, Dr. John Reefer moved to Butler County and started his practice in internal medicine. Over the ensuing thirty-plus years he has served the people of this area by providing some of the highest quality health care available.

While he will still be performing administrative duties at Butler Memorial Hospital, at the end of June, Dr. Reefer will be resigning from his clinical practice.

As one of the people who have had the opportunity to see him work and provide the care that he has, I can say this area is losing one of the finist clinicians that I have ever met. His quiet leadership in the health care community has allowed Butler Memorial Hospital to incorporate some of the finest health care facilities and programs to be found in a community hospital anywhere in the United States.

While he will still be in a leadership position, I hope the newest wave of healthcare providers will show the selfless dedication to their craft that Dr. Reefer gave to this community for so many years.
