I winter in Florida and upon returning to Slippery Rock in April I discovered that bulk trash pickup had been moved to March. This was a great inconvenience to me and must have also been an inconvenience to the college students who are residents of this town. How can they dispose of their bulk trash in March when they are here until the middle of May?

Now I have to wait until Sept. 20th for the next bulk trash pickup and store all the trash I would have put out for pickup in May. The residents I have talked to share my disapproval with the decision of Slippery Rock Borough Council to move the date to March.

The citizens of Slippery Rock need to make their feelings known about the borough’s bulk trash collection dates. We will have the opportunity to express ourselves on this matter at a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25 at the Slippery Rock Borough Building, East Water Street.

I encourage all citizens to attend the meeting so that a consensus can be reached. Surely I am not the only citizen of Slippery Rock that feels the council’s decision has caused many problems. Come and let your voice be heard.
