The Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia Chapter of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society thanks the residents of Cranberry Township for donating materials from your beloved Playtime Palace for our third annual Pineapple Classic 5k Obstacle Race. This Hawaiian-themed 5k obstacle course race and luau is scheduled for Sept. 21 at Hartwood Acres. The materials generously donated by Cranberry Township will be used to expand our children’s obstacle course.

We thank the Cranberry CUP, CTCC, employees of Westinghouse and Alcoa, and Cranberry Township’s Public Works for carefully disassembling the Playtime Palace. Many of the features are reusable for your future Kids Castle Playground, but also for our obstacle course.

More than 80 percent of the Playtime Palace is being repurposed. We will proudly display a sign at our obstacle course acknowledging the kindness of Cranberry Township’s donation of materials from its much-loved Playtime Palace.

The Pineapple Classic is a family-oriented event. Each team is responsible for carrying a fresh pineapple through the obstacle course without letting it touch the ground. If you have ever considered participating in an obstacle course event, this is the race for you. The course is challenging and fun. Register today at www.pineappleclassic5k.org/wpa.
