The Butler County commissioners this morning abolished the two jury commissioner posts.

The board voted 2-0 to eliminate the part-time elected posts. Jury commissioners select random lists of prospective jurors to serve at trials.

Commissioners Bill McCarrier and Dale Pinkerton took the action.

Commissioner Jim Eckstein was absent. He was attending a conference in Harrisburg.

Jury commissioners Clinton Bonetti and Jon Galante unsuccessfully argued for the board to reconsider or table a vote.
