ADAMS TWP — Mars High School’s 1,600-meter runner Scott Slaney broke the school record in that event during the Mars Invitational Friday night.
Slaney placed seventh in the event, but ran it in four minutes, 25.9 seconds. That broke the previous Mars record of 4:28, set by Wayne Santom in the 1988 Mars Invitational.
