Man dies when truck pins him against loading dock

IRWIN TWP, Venango County — A Grove City area man died Wednesday night when a tractor-trailer pinned him against a loading dock at Ward Trucking off Old Route 8.
Chief Gerry Rea of the Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department said this morning that the 50-year-old man, whose name was unavailable, was injured about 8:30 p.m. when the truck backed up to the loading dock.
“He got crushed,” Rea said.
Authorities are investigating how the accident happened.
“We don’t know a lot of the details,” Rea said.
He said emergency workers couldn’t revive the man.
“We never got a pulse on him,” Rea said.
The man was taken by Superior Ambulance to the Grove City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
