SV Middle School hosts science event

JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley Middle School will host a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) Fems meeting from 2:40 to 4:30 p.m. today in the school cafeteria.

The Women of Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science Outreach Roadshow will conduct an interactive presentation talking about why and how they began studying the area, their current experiences, what computer science means to them now, and their future hopes and expectations.

The presentation includes a guessing game, a slide show of computer science applications, algorithm style puzzles, a robot demonstration, and more.

Seneca Valley Middle School STEM Fems is a group of about 70 girls from the middle school who meet regularly with women in STEM careers or who are engaged in college STEM majors.
