Get most from taxes

We’ve all seen examples of taxes being raised over the years, but things that needed done either were ignored or not done well.

We’ve all seen examples where, even if there wasn’t a tax increase, the use of tax money could be questioned.

For me, one instance of tax revenue being used ineffectively is close to home. Hungarian Road in Cherry Township was tarred and chipped several years ago but there has not been the necessary follow-up care to keep it in good condition.

On a wider scale, there have been state road projects where deterioration has resulted more quickly than should have been expected. Meanwhile, we’ve heard plenty about the many deteriorated bridges in this state.

The gasoline taxes that we continue to pay don’t seem to be producing the benefits that many of us would expect.

I guess we’ll be seeing more of the same in the future.
