Crash closes turnpike west of Cranberry

CRANBERRY TWP — An overturned tractor trailer on the Pennsylvania Turnpike at mile marker 16 between the Cranberry and Beaver Valley interchanges has blocked the westbound lanes.
Traffic is being detoured off the highway. The accident occurred about 7:15 a.m. According to state turnpike offices, the accident is blocking both lanes and has caused major traffic delays.
The posted detour sends motorists onto I-79 North to U.S. Rt. 422 West, then to Route 60 South. This will bring motorists to the New Castle Interchange (10/Old 1A) where they can re-enter the turnpike at the New Castle Interchange (10/Old 1A) and follow signs to Ohio and West.
There are no reports of injures.
Officials hoped to reopen the road by 11 a.m.
